Andrzej
Zujewicz was born in Zabrze in 1971. In 1991 he successfully graduated
from State Lyceum of Arts in Katowice. Between 1991 and 1997 Zujewicz
was studying at Faculty of Graphic Arts and Painting at Academy of Fine
Arts in Kraków. He got his painting diploma with distinction at the
workshop of prof. Włodzimierz Kunz in 1997. After his studies he moved
to Suwałki Land, to the village of Żubrówka. He started his work as an
instructor and a therapist in Activity Workshop for Disabled People in
Suwałki. Since 2000 he has been working at the Regional Culture and Arts
Centre in Suwałki, where he organizes exhibitions the modern arts
gallery "Chłodna 20" and "PAcamera".
He is occupied by painting, drawing, graphic arts and artistic
photography. |
Andrzej Zujewicz has received
numerous awards, for instance: in 1998 he received a scholarship
which had been founded by Polish Ministry of Arts and Culture, the
first prize in the competition "Portrait" which had been organized
by Foto and Polfoto trade fair - 1995, an honourable mention in
photography competition "Images of Europe - Europe Crossing Borders"
in Holland in 1996, in 1999 Zujewicz received an honourable mention
in art competition entitled "Autumn in Bielsk". He is also a double
finalist of an art competition "The painting of the year" 2002 and
2003, organized by Art & Business. In 2005 he received a scholarship
founded by the mayor of Suwałki. He has taken part in a great number
of collective exhibitions in Poland and other countries: "Promotions
97" and "Satyrykon 2001" in Legnica, "Animalactions" in "Łaźnia" -
Centre of Contemporary Arts in Gdańsk 2002, "Border existence" -
exhibition of polish and lithuanien artists from Suwałki and Alytus
2007, and others.
The artist is also a participant as well as an organiser of
International Painting Plain-Air Workshop "At the Source" and Saloon
of Suwałki Plastic Arts 2001 together with The Triennials of Suwałki
Plastic Arts 2004. He initiated International Photo Plain-Air
Workshop "Photoinspirations" in 2007. |
